There’s Chaos and there’s Calm: Jen and Jess, two different personalities working well together, building on each other’s strengths – and having fun at the same time.
When Jen divorced over seven years ago, her already fast-paced life with two children and a new job turned into Disorganization Overload. Despite her enthusiasm, high energy and planning skills, becoming a single parent seemed overwhelming at first. Happily, her younger sister, Jess, was staying with her at the time. Jess is always organized and calm, with an uncanny ability to complete tasks on time. The two sisters worked as a team to slowly put the sanity back into Jen’s life, allowing her to move from Calgary to Victoria with her children in 2008. Here, Jen’s ability to meet and bring people together helped with her transition to a new city.
Then it was Jess’s turn to suffer a setback. She was hit in a crosswalk by a drunk driver while walking to work one morning. Jen was able to help her younger sister during the recovery process (still ongoing!); but, it was Jess’s organizational skills and perseverance that helped her get back on her feet and return to work relatively quickly. She had everything in place and up to date, a clean, clutter-free home without loads of laundry waiting, piles of mail or recycling to go through, or shopping to be done. She could even find important documents easily. Jess is always prepared for anything that might come along, even an accident.
As Jess recovered, the two sisters began to discuss forming their own business, one that would capitalize on their strengths, interests and teamwork. Before long, one idea took over: helping others organize their homes, work spaces and lives to find more joy and fulfillment. After completing the series of courses from Professional Organizers of Canada (POC), Jen and Jess were on their way.
